A no-budget film is a film made with very little or no money.

Young directors starting out in filmmaking and several older ones commonly use this method because there are few other options available to them at that point. All the actors and technicians are employed in these films without remuneration. These films are largely non-profit. Usually the director works alone on such films, or uses a very minimum “crew” of volunteers to assist him/her on such projects, where no money or financing is available, not including the cost of equipments and software used in production and post-production.

Satyajit Ray’s debut film, Pather Panchali (1955), which was produced on a budget of ?1.5 lakh (US$2,200) Along with the other films in Ray’s The Apu Trilogy the film is frequently listed among the greatest films of all time. In 1960, Ron Rice released The Flower Thief, starring Taylor Mead, to a positive reception. The film was produced for less than $1000 using black-and-white 16mm 50′ film cartridges left over from aerial gunnery equipment used during World War II. In the early 1960s, filmmaker Jack Smith used discarded color-reversal film stock to film Flaming Creatures. John Waters’ 1964 black-and-white film Hag in a Black Leather Jacket reportedly cost $30 to make, though Waters has said that he stole the film stock. Craig Baldwin’s Flick Skin is entirely made from discarded film, or “found footage”, retrieved from a projectionist’s booth. The No Wave Cinema movement of the late 1970s, represented by filmmakers such as Vivienne Dick, produced many notable no-budget films shot on Super 8, such as Beauty Becomes The Beast. In 1993, Sarah Jacobson’s first film, I Was a Teenage Serial Killer, was made with “one camera, one tape recorder, one mic and, like, four lights”. G.B. Jones took 13 years to film, direct and edit on Super 8mm the feature film The Lollipop Generation, which was filmed whenever she could afford to buy a roll of film, and finally released in 2008. In 2012, first-time director Shawn Holmes shot his debut film Memory Lane with non-professional actors and a budget of less than $300. In the same year Goodbye Promise, the first movie ever to be distributed online directly to its audience via a crowdfunding platform. was released. The 2013 sci-fi Hyperfutura by James O’Brien employed found footage married to a live action narrative to create a dystopian future on an inventive no-budget scale.

No-budget films can receive distribution at film festivals that focus on independent and experimental films, such as the Flicker Film Festival and No Budget Film Festival in Los Angeles, The 8 Fest in Toronto, and the Trasharama A-Go-Go festival in Australia. The Polish brothers distributed their no-budget film For Lovers Only on iTunes and relied on social media to publicize it.

Examples of well-received no-budget films are Kevin Smith’s Clerks, Christopher Nolan’s Following and Jafar Panahi’s Taxi.

Paraffin wax is a white or colorless soft solid derivable from petroleum, coal or oil shale, that consists of a mixture of hydrocarbon molecules containing between twenty and forty carbon atoms.

It is solid at room temperature and begins to melt above approximately 37 °C (99 °F); its boiling point is 370 °C 698 °F. Common applications for paraffin wax include lubrication, electrical insulation, and candles. It is distinct from kerosene, another petroleum product that is sometimes called paraffin.

Paraffin candles are odorless, and bluish-white in color. Paraffin wax was first created in the 1850s, and marked a major advancement in candlemaking technology, as it burned more cleanly and reliably than tallow candles, and was cheaper to produce.

In chemistry, paraffin is used synonymously with alkane, indicating hydrocarbons with the general formula CnH2n+2. The name is derived from Latin parum “barely” + affinis, meaning “lacking affinity” or “lacking reactivity”, referring to paraffin’s unreactive nature.

The industrial automation is the use of computerized systems or electromechanical elements for controlling machines or industrial processes. There are many jobs where there is no immediate risk of automation. No device has been invented that can compete against the human eye for precision and certainty in many tasks; either the human ear. The most useless humans can identify and distinguish essences as much automatic any device. Skills for human pattern recognition, speech recognition and language production are beyond any expectation automation engineers.

Another form of automation involving computers is test automation, where computer controlled automatic test equipment which is programmed to simulate humans to manually test an application. This is usually accompanied by automatic tools to generate special instructions (written as computer programs) that address the automatic test equipment in the exact direction to finish tests.

Japanese companies managed to survive in this market, among the most important are: the Italian company Comau, Adept Technology, Staubli-Unimation, the Swiss multinational company ABB (Asea Brown Boveri-) and the German company KUKA Robotics. The Robotics is the branch of technology that is dedicated to the design, construction, operation, structural disposition, manufacture and application of robots. The term robotics is coined by Isaac Asimov, defining the science of robots. Asimov also created the Three Laws of Robotics. In the science fiction man has imagined robots visiting new worlds, seizing power, or simply alleviating the housework in addition to having sexual fantasies or fetishes with them, because they stand out for having a representation of the male member to large scale.

A financial intermediary is an institution or individual that serves as a conduit for parties in a financial transaction. According to classical and neoclassical economics, as well as most mainstream economics, a financial intermediary is typically a bank that consolidates deposits and uses the funds to transform them into loans. According to some heterodox economists and others, financial intermediaries simply do not exist.

Through the process of financial intermediation, certain assets or liabilities are transformed into different assets or liabilities. As such, financial intermediaries channel funds from people who have extra money or surplus savings (savers) to those who do not have enough money to carry out a desired activity (borrowers).

A financial intermediary is typically an institution that facilitates the channeling of funds between lenders and borrowers indirectly. That is, savers (lenders) give funds to an intermediary institution (such as a bank), and that institution gives those funds to spenders (borrowers). This may be in the form of loans or mortgages. Alternatively, they may lend the money directly via the financial markets, and eliminate the financial intermediary, which is known as financial disintermediation.

In the context of climate finance and development, financial intermediaries generally refer to private sector intermediaries, such as banks, private equity, venture capital funds, leasing companies, insurance and pension funds, and micro-credit providers. Increasingly, international financial institutions provide funding via companies in the financial sector, rather than directly financing projects.
